Otonabee 48
The pull of the Drill Roll.
A strange one with engines at both ends—and that's what gives it overwhelming swimming ability. The front lip creates the action, and NLW's Tail Drive System (TDS) accelerates it into an ultra-high-pitch swim, like a lipless crank in a minnow body.

Action & How to Use
A sinking minnow with two engines: the front lip and NLW's own Tail Drive System. Together they produce an extremely high-pitch swimming action.
Usable from slow to high speed. Worked well, it produces a fast rolling action like a spinning drill: the Drill Roll.
Unlike ordinary minnows, when you add an input such as a twitch, the TDS grabs the water and produces its fastest roll. Use this to create intense flashing while the lure moves slowly, almost hovering in place. With a little practice, a shake retrieve a bit stronger than a midstrolling motion brings out the Drill Roll.
Hook setup: sold with one treble on the tail (the setting that brings out the Drill Roll best). You can add a belly hook for two trebles (recommended when fish strike from below) or use one or two single hooks.

The Story
Many people looking at the Otonabee 48 for the first time probably think: "What a strange one—it has engines at both the front and the back."
What this strange one achieves is overwhelming swimming ability. Its power to swim through with an ultra-high-pitch action, like a lipless crank, is second to none among minnow plugs. The front lip creates the action, and the TDS at the tail accelerates it.
Its name comes from the Otonabee River in Canada, a fierce river that Indigenous people called "the river that flows like a beating heart." The Otonabee 48 swims through with power, like a heartbeat. Please give it a try.
